Civic Design Method

CivicWise is developing the first Civic Design Method.

We have an alpha version based on 10 steps process.
Is a working progress project so we will certainly improve and transform it .

So far the 10 steps are:
1. OPENING > 2. PLANNING > 3. ENGAGEMENT > 4. RESEARCH > 5. DESIGN > 6. DELIVERING > 7. SPREADING > 8. (CROWD)FUNDING > 9. BUILDING > 10. IMPACT

1. OPENING
Sharing the idea with other people in order to have feedback and to understand if it is good enough to go ahead with the development.

2. PLANNING
Quick analysis and research to understand what kind of people and stakeholders are needed to start the process. Plan the following process using the Civic Design Method.

3. ENGAGEMENT
Look for the engagement of a minimum crowd that can help with the starting process.

4. IDEAS
Look for new ideas based on the initial one. Make a quick research about similar ideas and experiences. This step is understood as an open point when is important to explore different possibilities.

5. DESIGN
Here starts the design phase. This step includes research and design with a collaborative approach. Here it’s time to depurate different Ideas and focus in a final one.

6. DELIVERING
Translating the final design into formal documents. Researching what kind of permissions the development of the project needs and apply for them with the required documentation.

7. SPREADING
Spreading the word around. It’s important that the local community knows about the project.

8. (CROWD)FUNDING
Look for funding: it could be a crowdfunding process or any other fundraising process.

9. BUILDING
Get the project done.

10. IMPACT
This final step has the objective to find possible synergies between the realised project and other local realities in order to promote a sort of continuity. Measure the impact and the result and maybe plan to start again another project.
